rock musical chronicles the adventures of one such class struggling with
their memory work. They need to pass the big exam in order to go on the
canoe trip. The most unique feature of this work is that composers Jay
Beech and Dave Eliason have set several sections of Luther's Small
Catechism to music. This resource can be done as a stage production, but
the recording is is also widely used as a learning tool.

Using a modern translation of one of our most ancient statements of faith, Jay has set this text to a beautiful folk-style melody. It still has lots of energy, though, especially at the end with the choir vamping on the words, “I believe, I believe.”
